Sheriff Rivero is NOT the first Hispanic Sheriff in California

I find it hilarious that when someone pointed out that there was a Hispanic Sheriff elected in 1998, Lee Baca of Los Angeles, the lovelace group deleted the posts.   It's pretty easy to find on google search.  A couple of different posts on the Rivero blog that pointed this out were deleted....and the lovelacers still didn't correct their statement that Rivero is the first Hispanic Sheriff in California.
Here is a congratulatory blurb to Baca from HAPCOA for when he was given an award by President Bush http://www.hapcoa.org/congratulationsarchive.html

Lee Baca wasn't even the first..... "That article—as well as numerous articles in the Times and other papers—mistakenly asserted that Baca is the county's first Latino sheriff, or its first Latino sheriff this century. Neither statement is remotely true (Eugene Biscailuz was only the most recent, before Baca, of several Los Angeles County Latino sheriffs). "  http://www.metnews.com/profiles/baca.htm
